<p><strong>Stoneware</strong><br />
You are sure to enjoy making and using a stoneware pie pan like the one pictured here. Once you have finished the piece, you will find a recipe at the end of the article, so you can try it right away.<br />
Step 1 Clean the stoneware in the usual careful manner.<br />
Step 2 Use a pencil to lightly divide the pan into 4 equal parts. Divide each section in half to give a total of 8 sections.<br />
Step 3 Using an apple-shaped template and a pencil, draw an apple at each of the 8 dividing lines. Sketch a leaf at the top of each apple.<br />
Step 4 Apply 3 generous coats of Red Pepper glaze to each apple, allowing drying time between coats. Step 5 Paint the leaves with 2 coats of Forest Green. Use a #2 round brush to add a comma stroke stem at the top of each apple.<br />
Step 6 Use a natural sponge to apply a color of your choice to the rim of the pan. Step 7 Fire the piece to witness (standard) cone 2 (2124°F-1162°C).</p>
