Not exactly true to nature, these little birds are what 1 call “fun” birds, since they are done without the help of any reference material. Use this design on a porcelain canister that is handy for instant coffee or tea bags and is attractive enough to leave out on a counter, or on china of your choosing.
If using a canister as pictured, remove the metal fastener and the plastic seal and set them aside until the painting and firing are complete.
Make a copy of the pattern given here and enlarge it on a copy machine to fit the china you have selected. Trace the design onto the piece with graphite paper, then go over the lines with a fine tip permanent marker. Wipe off any remaining graphite.
