Mold a Penguin
Stick the head on top of the body.
Flatten the other two halls until they are shaped like the two wings in the picture. Stick the wings on the body.
Roll two smaller balls for the feet, and flatten them. Stick them in place.
A tiny hall can be pointed to make a beak. Stick it in the middle of the face.
Smooth the clay where the pieces are stuck to each other so that the lines where they join do not show.
Use a pointed stick to make dents for the eyes.

Roll a large round hall of clay for the body.

Now roll the can over a sheet of paper, and the rope will print the shapes. Roll the can in the paint each time hefore you roll it over the paper. You can print the design as manv times as von wish.
Try making other designs with felt or wool cutouts.

Twist rope around the can and glue it in place. See Picture. You might wish to cut the rope into a number of pieces and glue each one to the can. Yon can twist each piece to whatever shape you wish hefore von glue it in place.
Make sure that the glue is dry hefore you begin printing with the can roller.
I’ut some tempera or poster paint in the pie tin. Koll the can in the paint. The paint will stick to the rope, but not to the can.

PRINTING WITH TIN CANS
a tin can
tempera or poster paint
rope
a pie tin or a deep plate
glue
tape
paper
Out of a tiu can you can make a roller that prints. It will make fine designs on paper for gift wrapping.
Cover the jagged edge at the open end of the can with tape to protect yourself from cuts.

Print with Other Things
Another kind of potato printer can be made by leaving the picture flat and cutting away everything but the picture. Now when you put paint on the potato, only the picture will print.
You can use each half of the potato for a different kind of potato printer.
Try printing with different-sized corks, spools, bottle caps, erasers, and other things.

Learning how to draw Printing with Potatoes
Materials
a large potato
a paring knife
paper
poster paints
Cut a potato in hall.
Mark a square, a circle, a diamond, an “x”. or some other simple picture on the flat side ol one ol the halves. II you draw a letter ol the alphabet, make it backward so that it will print right.
Cut away some of the potato inside your design. See Picture. Now when you put paint on the potato, only the Hal edge around the design will print.

Here are some ideas you can use for your funny face.
Now put a nose on the up-and-down line, and some cars on the ends of the side-to-side line. Then draw two eves on the side-to-side line, and evehrows a little above the eyes. Then put a mouth a little below the nose. Add some hair or a moustache or glasses and a pipe.
