A cardboard carton, large enough to walk into, makes a good hideaway. Turn it so that the box opens on its side. Let one of the flaps be the door. Tape the other one closed.

Here are some ways you can make a secret hideaway at home.
You can make one in an unused corner of your basement, garage, attic, or game room. Every corner has two walls. Build a third wall and you have a hideaway a crepepaper wall
Hammer a nail in each of the corner walls, as high up as you want the crepe-paper wall to be. Tie a string from one nail to the other. Hang crepe-paper strips from the string to the floor. You can fasten them at the bottom with another string stretched between the walls. Be sure to leave one or two strips loose at the bottom so that you have a door.
